- Quickly rehosted games should now be detected
- Made it clearer why GH is downloading a map
- "Try joining again" text added to end of "Download complete" message
- IRC name is no longer set to your GTA2 name if no previous IRC name is found. It must be manually set.
- NS GHOST command is sent after MOTD is received since InspIRCd ignores if sent earlier
- Columns are sorted when a player changes name
- Maps are downloaded to <temp>\gta2map.7z instead of <documents>
- 7za output is slightly more readable
- F8 runs gta2manager.exe or gta2 manager.exe instead of gta2.exe (bug in v1.529)
- Gamma setting of 0 is changed to 15

Good work on all these subtle fixes for GH. It's thankless work but is actually what makes the app good to use. And it's really good to use, these days. 8-)

- A password must be in settings before you can sign in
- Nicks are automatically registered if available
- Moved the X used for closing tabs to the bottom right
- Changed conflicting hotkeys
- Your nick is saved to registry whenever it is changed
- Fixed gridline setting saving
- Fixed a problem that could only happen if #gta2gh was set to +m mode
- Important notices from GTANet are displayed

edit: if you get purple messages with the text "1.531" or "SA" then download GH again (that bug was fixed a few minutes after release)

thanks another update. i noticed a closing button for tabs at the right bottom.

is it me or are there less people online? perhaps because with new version the chatserver is different.

All my screenshots since Windows 7 was released have been done in Windows 7 but I usually have it set to the classic win2k theme.

So far I only kick v1.524 and v1.528, anything newer is allowed. You must enter a password with v1.531, that could deter some users, especially if their english is bad and they don't know what to do.

I made the tab line shorter than the window since if you have many tabs open, it would overlap the X button but I could make it go all the way across when your tabs don't reach the side. The x button will be moved onto the active tab at some point. I don't even use the x button, I push ctrl+w.

The players combobox lines up better in Windows classic theme. I'll fix it for other themes.

that password forcing is problematic for online pakx.
it sets the default name to pakxped for autologin. If i set a password for that user someone else could take control over it when he reads the password.

If you want that nick then register it yourself. Why does that pack have a default username anyway? I don't want lots of people logging in with the same name.

edit: I see you just used it to track how many people logged in with that pak. You could set a default channel to join, registry key channels = #onlinepakx

it is not only for that purpose. it is also an indicator for others that this person is new and has everything that is included in online pakx. You can also ring that person by writing "pakxped".
And the tutorial tells them to change their nick.

- Topic changes now include the channel name
- /topic command makes changes to current channel if no channel is specified
- Players that quit are removed from all channels, not just #gta2gh
- GH updates flags in all channels if flag notice is sent to #gta2gh
- GH will no longer try to download jpeg files from: http://gtamp.com/maps/
- GH can now download files ending in 7z from: http://projectcerbera.com/gta/2/
- Selecting tag game will no longer remove your game from the list
- HKCU\Software\GTA2 Game Hunter\display\Filter set to a sane value if out of bounds

I like the auto download from gta 2 maps website, but the messages it produce is extremely unclear.

Could this not be more like this:

even better would be that bc_ac.mmp is replaced with the real map name. In this case "BC - Awkward Cargo - Lite".

I would suggest keeping the message to max 3 lines with text. Else people might not read or remember it, haha. :mrgreen:

I wasn't going to release a version this early but GTANet services went down and GH was having trouble logging in without them.

2011-07-01 v1.533
- #gta2gh is joined even if NickServ is offline
- You must be in the same channel as a user to send them a message
- Player list is cleared if you are kicked from a channel
- Private messages are ignored from users that aren't on any of your channels

GTANet is having some issues, so another quick fix release:

2011-07-02 v1.534
- Changed server address from 85.17.97.63 to irc.gtanet.com
- Fixed tab order on settings window
- Fixed blinking textbox (changed it from multiline back to singleline)

It can pick the same map before going to all the others if that's what you mean. I've added shuffle maps without repeating (aka smart shuffle) to the todo list but even then, technically it wouldn't be "truly random" since it has to be based on some computation.

GH is heading back to the bad old days where it made lots of spam when signing in. The result being that nobody reads any of it.
