On my TODO list.

TradeMark: there is one nasty thing. Speed of camera depends on FPS. Maybe you will use DeltaTime when incrementing camera position when moving?
Thanks, Yeah, i indeed should, added to TODO list now.

Maybe instead of pyramids for lights you should / could render little light bulb model(s)?
Like 3D World Studio does for its lights?

I think it would look much better. Than some pyramids that actually have nothing to do with lighting or lights. I mean the lights can be only spherical in GTA2, not rectangular like the pyramids are at one side.

There are free light bulb models available.

some progress.

tested and its exactly like in GTA2, except the lighting level for blocks isnt used (more real IMO) and all slopes actually get lights on them too (while in GTA2 all slopes dont have lighting).

Looks very nice. Bottom picture with in the distance lights on the roof don't look nice.

That's awesome! I love the big perspective shot, looks a bit like GTA Vice City at night.

How do my levels look in that view? Vedic Temple, MultiSlayer City, MultiSlayer Ship, and Tiny Hidden Surprise might be best examples.

Lights tend to be quite square in GTA2, when the size is small. Most visible in DeCon Labs and Tiny Hidden Surprise, I think.

multislayer looks cool, vedic temple nothing special, tiny hidden surprise barely has any lights.

when it supports shadows too it would look perfect. then it would be superior in all aspects to all previous gta2 renderers. good lights and shadows make everything look much better.

2 examples with shadows

T.M

can you add menu item: "Clear recent maps"
So it will remove all old thumbnails and recent maps.

Just to cleanup this opening screen.
I have reinstalled XP and it displays old maps that doesn't even exist anymore.

This happens and editor terminates:
Image

Probably it should check silently if recent maps exist and delete them if not.
Or when user clicks on recent map it should first check if it exists, if not, then
it should remove thumbnail and stay idle. Until user presses again on some thumbnail.

Something like that.

Whooops, the lighting didnt take the intensity into account... now it does. thats why multislayer looks a bit strong colored. didnt notice much difference in industrial map though...

Oh my fucking god:

REMAPPED CARS!

Took shit loads of time to do this (its not that simple as just drawing with different palet.... i had to do sprite packing, mipmap generation manually, etc etc etc), -> i also found out new hardcoded stuff in GTA2 by making this remap functionality. Epic.

Looks really cool. :)

Can you also change the color of the cars automatically? Some look different.

Left of the two taxi's is a green car and left of that is a car that has too dark color in comparison with the others. Just noticing...
