Chad Sapieha’s negative review

Rockstar’s developers deserve kudos for doing the best they could given the hardware they had to work with, but it seems to me that some game concepts are simply better suited for more powerful platforms.

Chinatown Wars is recommended to any mature DS owner, with a variety of online features and loads of content to explore outside of the core missions, it marks one of the most valuable DS games on the market.

BAJO
Even though I’m a fan of the other handheld incarnations of GTA on psp I reckon this style is much more fun, and it would be nice to see a top down psp version one day…I’m giving it 9.5.

JUNG
I’m giving Chinatown Wars a 9.

Chinatown Wars on South Park

Copied from PlanetGTA.com

In the town of South Park tonight, the economy went bad and part of the episode concentrated on how the ailing economy keeps Cartman from getting something he wants…a copy of GTA: Chinatown Wars for Nintendo DS. Here are a few select quotes I transcribed:

Cartman: "Of all the times for people to decide to stop buying things, it had to be the week that Grand Theft Auto IV comes out for Nintendo DS!"

Later on in the episode:

Cartman: "I had a dream last night. I was in a field, and I had Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars right next to me. But then the sky went black and…Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars just melted in my hands." (Cartman begins to cry.)

And later when Randy and others are meeting to try to come up with solutions, Cartman comes in and offers to help:

Cartman: "Did somebody say ‘catch a Jew?’ The person you’re after might be hard to get, but I can bring him to you. And all I want in return…is Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for handheld Nintendo DS."

The episode is called "Margaritaville" and will play on Comedy Central several more times this week.

Max Payne 3 announced

“We’re starting a new chapter of Max’s life with this game,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation.

Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out.

Max Payne 3 will be available in the last quarter of 2009 for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and PC.
