======================================================================= AR Syncope (GTA2) ======================================================================= Car Designed by: Azz Date: 02/08/01 Car Replaced: Michelli Roadster - Downtown Sector New Deltas: Yes New Specs: No Build Time: About 1 hour CD(s): Regular Urban Survivors - Terrorvision Brief Description: ================== It's me, it's me, it's erm, Azz. Yes I'm back again, with another car. I don't intend to make a habit of this (though I do have another two in development, but judging by public reaction I doubt they'll make release). So what is it this time? Well it's the Syncope, like it says up there. This car was designed specifically for use in GTA London, but don't fret if you're among those lacking good judgment and you don't own the best game in the GTA series, as there are GTA and GTA2 versions included. It's a sports car, think of it as the road version of a LeMans racer and you'll get the idea. Sort of a GT40 and a P917 rolled into one, with a little AR flair of course. This is my first real attempt at a gull wing car as well (the doors go up, like a DeLorean), and I think they're quite successful. The shading style is nothing like my usual one, but I really do like it. It's very easy to do and looks amazing in game (I'm not one to brag, but it does honest). It's a mix of Ray Larabie's GTA London shading style and my own softened version. I basically made a car my normal way, but with sharper highlights, then hit it with the unsharpen mask and it ended up like this. You have downloaded the GTA2 only version, if you want GTA or GTA London versions as well then check out the GTA/GTA London user cars section of my site, or the Azz pages of the InHouse section of my site. Oh yeah, and the name means a temporary loss of consciousness due to lack of blood, but I actually took it from the musical term syncopation, which means displacement of the beats or accents in a passage so strong beats become weak and vice versa. So now you know ;-) Credits: ======== First of all big credits to Ray for his awesome and inspirational GTA London art work, shame Larabiefonts has to close, but I know you'll do just as well with your next project. Also thanks to those who provided useful feedback via my message board. And thanks to those who just made gurgling sounds as well. Oh and ta to Phoenix who convinced me to make some more destructive deltas, I think they turned out pretty well. Details: ======== This time around the GTA2 conversion is much more successful (though it wasn't any quicker to do, damn mirroring headlights). Uses ingame palettes so you can set your own remaps. I've been using remap numbers 5 16 0 3 25 But you should experiment. Set the palette number to 172 and you'll get a decent starting colour. For installation details see: http://azz.gouranga.com/gta2_newcars.html Other Stuff: ============ That's probably all. I hope you like it. Even if you don't, I do and I had fun making it, which is all that really counts :-) Cheers, Azz ======================================================================= GTAzz - http://azz.gouranga.com ======================================================================= This archive and all it's contents are Copyright 2001 Simon Marshall.
