New Games? [December 30, 2000]
Ok I've been bored recently without a hot new title on my computer. I was into Project IGI for a while but it got too boring for me personally, no MP ya see. So anyone have any *new* games that are either coming up and have a demo or have just been released. I think I'm going to try out Serious Sam see how good that is but any suggestions? Oh and not that Monkey Island game either please :).

Well GTA2 BattleGen is coming along nicely we now have 5 mission ideas finished, 1 mission done, tons of the map done, and a bunch more junk, oh and the frontend is 3 gfx's away from finishing. I took a nice 2 day vacation for myself and so i'm back all nice and fresh. We should be making an announcement of a few goodies by next week maybe before the end of this week.

GTA2 Multiplayer Game Finder [December 28, 2000] [1 Comments]
Ozzie another guy i've been relaying messages to and fro via e-mail has developed an ingenious device called the GTA2 Game Finder. It allows you to announce your game you're hosting and also allows you to find all GTA2 Multiplayer Servers currently active. Of course to be of any success it needs people to use it so the server list will grow. You can grab the program from here don't mind the URL i found it weird myself hehe.

Merry Christmas from GTA Gaming Army! [December 25, 2000]
       A news update? OMG!

GISS Back in Action

First and foremost, I've revived GISS, it's active over at the GTAzz Forums, or you can go straight to the car list site. Lots of carmakers are getting in on the action- don't be left out!

Paladin Web Design to the Third Power...

I have just finished Postimees' site, NitroCity Lot, and a preview is here, though if you were paying attention at GTAzz then you'd know where the site itself is.

And on the Web Design Subject...

TAGA is coming soon folks, promise... take a look-see.

Enough is Enough

Gotta go fill up on Christmas candies, hehe... later.

The Gearbox Week 3 [December 24, 2000]
GTA Kreyz knew this day would arrive and he has defeated all others in a completely unanimous (if i could spell it im a bit tipsy right now) decision for his Ferrari 410 SA (which i keep spelling Ferrai for some reason). Anyway enjoy and once i find his email i will mail it to him.

BattleGen Frontend [December 24, 2000]
Well on Christmas Eve (right now in my part of the world) just before i go to a party i have just finished the gta2: battlegen's frontend images. The only one i care to show to all of you is the main one because it rocks and took some time. Then after finishing it i ran into problems and had to reformat the images (who knew they had to be a super specific file size, surely not I). But anywho just look below, the pic is what one of the many cyberbots that will be in battlegen are supposed to be like (they look like elvis in-game hehe). Click the image for the big pic.

GTA2: BattleGen Again [December 19, 2000] [9 Comments]
Well i 'twas bored last nightt so i got round to tidying up some of the map bonuses (side mission type of things) and i tidied up the map a bit. I'm thinking that during the week i have no work i will focus on map making since mission making is significantly easier compared to map making. I meant to take a screenshot of the "world map" view from the gta2 editor to show i'm not bullshitting you about the size but the way it represents stuff makes it look like the buildings have huge spaces between them, which they don't. But so far this mod has been all by me until paladin rises from the dead to send me the .sty file and then of course my good bud gtakreyz will do some cars, and if he ever emails me the gta2 palette tutorial (not really a tute) then i'll hopefully release the first Tk ever released hehe. I'm also hoping to keep this site updated, oh and thecounter.com has the weirdest way of showing 100000+ visitors just noticed that now.

Another Celebration [December 14, 2000]
Well, with all this celebration over recieving 100G hits, I've got another small thing to celebrate. Ive just finished uploading a few new cars to the Car Vault , and I noticed we've hit our first 50 cars, Yay! On a cool note, Lint was the one who submitted the 50'th car to us. Congratulations and thanks go to everyone who submit their cars, and remember to keep sending them in.

100G's [December 13, 2000]
Well even though thecounter.com has been down for 50% of the day meaning i lost half the hits i got we have hit 100,000 (100,008 as i speak) so i just wanna say thanks to everyone for making this such a fast growing site, it's all about you guys that keeps it here. Oh and before everyone says i sit on my page refreshing 100,000 times i just want to say that 90,000+ are unique (i just left the stat page so i dont have the exact number). Unique i think on thecounter is defined as one IP hitting your site once within 24 hours. If the same IP hits your site twice within a 24 hour period it isn't counted. So much thanks to you guys.

GTA2: BattleGen [December 12, 2000]
The mod myself and paladin spoke of about a month ago, announced it November 17th i think, has been slowly evolving on my hard drive. I'm working on getting everything centralized on my hard drive so development goes quicker. So far here's the breakdown:

Map-20% (top left corner, may grow quickly if paladin let's me use his old mod's map or pieces of it)
Missions-10% (1 mission done, 3 plotted out, 10-12 expected)
Special Features80% (walk-in buildings, "cyberbots", motorbikes, convertibles, etc)
Cars & Tiles-0% (no cars, no new tiles yet)
I have the main layout of the map done with the river, a huge, detailed bridge (with wire supports), a nice highway, off roads, flooded sections, secret areas, and "jumping" spots which are secret paths where accurate jumping is needed. 288 lines of main mission code, with the seperate missions each being roughly 100-200 lines. The setting is sorta like Azz's "Somewhere" there's no setting just whatever comes to mind and looks good. With the finishing of the first mission the rest should go quickly. The first mission took me about 15 minutes of hardcore coding (i zone out while coding anything) so each other mission could/should take less time.
If you want to see our motorbike pics go: here and here and here.

Missing Something... [December 10, 2000]
Woops seems i forgot something a few days ago. on December 8th 2000 GTA: Gaming Army celebrated it's 1 year anniversary, and i'm glad to say we seem to be the quickest growing site around probably the first to get 100,000 hits in a year, besides G!. Now if you all remember GTA Gaming Army was my gift to myself for my 3rd year here, i arrived in GTA 12/8 with a site and way before i was gawking at the demo) and so i also missed my 4th year anniversary here in GTA community. The 100G's should keep me happy as far as presents go.

The Gearbox Week 2 [December 9, 2000]
Well the only bi-weekly award around has now announced it's second time winner. We are proud to declare Alfadog and his AV Savaunt which now lays claim to the highest rating at the Car Vault, remember our ratings are based on GTAzz rating standards so his 86% is huge, anyway back to congratulating him. Robert Tuovinen came very close with his Volvo Truck which was the runner up, i just didn't find the cab too enticing however Robert sent in a bunch of cars which are all great. Go see the entire collection at The Car Vault go on i know ya want to.

New File [December 9, 2000]
Rob Devilee, a GTA2 multiplayer scripter who I've been helping privately for a while now, has sent me a brand new exclusive file, grab it here, which showcases, in open source, some great things you can do with GTA2 script. Now it comes standard as a one player script so you can test it but if you want to play it with 2 players ... well i'll let him explain:
"I made a cool multiplayer map, with an extensive script (extract in your gta2/data directory). I've tested it once with 2 players on my LAN network; the script should work also for 3 players. It contains normal spawning weapons and powerups, a car shop, and also triggers where you can e.g. buy a tank for $50,000 , increase ammo, get lots of weapons, road detonations, etc. I've also set the max. police at 4 heads (6 does not work - the LAN game goes out of sync as soon as the hunted (by tanks etc!) player is killed). Some triggers may be "too" much, like the ones where one can remove all weaponry of a particular player. One trigger, the one where you get a full load of weapons, has a 1:3 chance that the player is blown to pieces !! That's really cool.
I've included the map here - with a script, compiled for only 1 player (so you can test it on your own). You can easily adapt it for 2 or 3 players by changing the first few lines of the script. I'd like to know if you like it - I worked 2 weeks on it, after work, and in the weekends."
One thing he didn't mention that i will is that if you are going to change the .mis to make it work with 2 or 3 players you MUST recompile it with the GTA2 MIS Compiler which you can search the File Vault for and it should work fine. Now if you're just gonna play in one player than you won't need to compile it.

News Updater [December 8, 2000]
Pretty much i am pissed off at people who have news accounts but don't update ('cept phat rat cause his main concern is cars) SO i shall be emptying out my list if i don't start seeing updates. I am also looking for someone who can do at least 1 update a day (once every 2 days even) without having the whole update be about GTAzz MB. If you fit the criteria e-mail me here and we can discuss stuff. This isn't brought on about by a want for a big team but simply for a need. I am, as if you couldn't tell as of late, not really here still poking 'round to keep the site up though and hopefully will return soon. Anywho i guess i'll look for some news.

News Lacking [December 5, 2000]
Unfortunately the scene is in a lull as far as news goes this can be credited to the now completely sealed lips of rockstar PR's and dan houser as well. I personally sent off quite a few e-mails to some guys i know/knew to see if i can get anything. So far it's been 3 stiffs from houser and a few from my "other friends". We are still working hard though and will report any major occurances, we won't repeat what GTAzz MB or any other MB says for that matter.

Come on guys we still need support for the GTA Car Vault. The first week or two was great but now it seems we're losing track. So go support Car Vault and if you design cars go upload them HERE. For those of you who don't know Car Vault is the newest section here at GTA:GA in which we store GTA1 and GTA2 cars and for the top prize we give out the nifty gif over there called the gearbox (now chosen every other week, meaning this friday we chose a winner then 2 weks we chose another). So please support us and the car makersthey deserve the support!

Super Runabout: San Fransisco Edition First Look! [December 1, 2000]
I mucked up seven, yes seven, screenshots of the new version of Super Runabout called San Fransisco Edition. The architecture is still good, but the cars are definitely different than those in our GTA-Related Games section (here for the lazy ones). Okay, enough blabbing, here they are:

Okay, enjoy! Click on them to cruise to the actual pics. Yeah, I got this off happy puppy.. hehe
