All songs ripped to MP3 at quality level 3 using LAME. AUDIO: 22050 Hz, 2 ch, average 160kbps.

The person who ripped them was going to use OGG, but then again worrying about MP3 licensing issues isn't an issue when illegally ripping music, he said, so there. That, and lamers would bitch that they don't know how to play OGG.

We still need an archive with the full songs used in GTA2 in high quality. Wikipedia has been kind and awesome enough to provide us with a list of all the artists and titles heard in the soundtrack:

Thanks, but what we really need is the gta2 sound cd. Not sure it was ever made, but a lot of games also sell cd's with the music used in the game. I don't think you will find the music by name - it are all custom songs, as far as I know.

The "Notes" part of the Wikipedia article makes it clear that all the songs were purposely recorded for GTA2. I'm sure the original high quality recordings are all gathering dust somewhere in a Take Two vault...

The link is dead, it ceased to live among the living, it's a dead parrot.

GTA1 had a separate soundtrack released, according to the data provider for Windows Media Player 11. So did GTA: london 1969. It doesn't have a listing for GTA2, at least not a good one, so I submitted my own.

They aren't not on Zune, though they might be in iTunes or somewhere else. Google doesn't seem to know about a GTA2 soundtrack release, so maybe GTA2 didn't do that.
