the discussion was only about day/night

i didn't say how the entries should be handled. day/night could only mean that this map is playable/looks good at night.

I don't see why the rest should be bad.

-use gmp optimizer(if it supports command line) or equivalent code to optimize all maps in the gta folder, so that disk space is saved and there are no incompatibilities between optimized and non-optimized maps anymore.

-delete ip from registry when joined/played so that lan/localhost games are possible without having to clear the ip textfield in gta manager.

-random map selector

Quick map installation

Drag and Drop system will copy all dropped files into gta2/data folder.

Is there a bug/error topic? I found a unimportant error, I repeat, it's not important. :)

When you start two GH's, login with different names and one creates a game where the other joins. Looks like so:
double_play.jpg
double_play.jpg (177.04 KiB) Viewed 35445 times
The "guy" that hosts the game gets this error:
11:17:35 error during probe timer: Subscript out of range Line: 50
"Mmmm, your eyes are so beautiful."

Not sure how you join your own game using two GHs since it should say that GTA2 is already open when you try to join. Sometimes I prevent running two copies of GH but I keep enabling it again since it's good for testing.

Hola.. ;)

I propose that game hunter is like the messenger ..

How?

- Clicking to minimize, stay in the tray (currently only happens when clicking close).

- That is always in the tray, select options to right-click in the icon beside of the windows clock. (EXIT, DISPLAY, SETTINGS, ETC.)

Sorry for my bad english.. :|

Greetings from Mexico.

I'll add a minimize to tray option and a context menu for the tray.

I moved the invul/party mode idea to its own topic since it was unrelated to Game Hunter.

I would like it if GameHunter has build in PM notification sound. Some people I could play a game with are only gone for 30 min and sending a PM does not notify them. I think GameHunter in basic settings gives no good PM sound (or no sound at all). PM sound should still be changeable, but the basic/standard sound should be build in the exe so it always works. To prevent annoying spammers you could build in a check to only use the notification sound if GameHunter has no focus or is in corner of taskbar. Or only give one notification each minute. the other 59 PM's each second wont give noise.

perhaps for the notification sound you can use a sound from gta2 itself.

In Online Pakx there is a bunch of sounds from gta included and you can also use the sounds from data/audio/vocals. If you use the installer version of online pakx default sounds are set up already.

warning: gta2 and gh settings will be overwritten when you install it for testing

Possible of right clicking a chat-tab and clicking close (except the #gta2gh one of course)? Right now the only way to close them is to close all open chats you have

I haven't added right click but for the next version, I have added single tab closing with ctrl+w or clicking a fake X.

edit: I moved chat about the 1.525 beta and bug reports to the GTA2 Game Hunter topic.

  1. Maybe copy any error messages from main tab to current tab automatically?
  2. Do that for all game-related messages which are directly about you?
  3. Don't change the current tab and especially don't change it for every game join.

When I log in, I get this text:
20:37:35 If your ports are closed, login to http://192.168.1.1. Forward 47624 and 2300-2400 TCP/UDP to 192.168.1.2.
20:37:41 your unique ID
20:37:41 is now your displayed host
20:37:41 Your nick isn't registered.
20:37:41 is now your displayed host
I find that a bit unclear, especially the second, third and last line. What is it?

how about a notify sound not for country but for distance. there should be a service on the Internet that allows to calculate that.
-edit: make use of regions instead. i possibly do that

First it needs the ability to download new versions of GH and GTA2 patches.

I might leave downloading GTA2 until I improve the downloader so that it runs in a separate thread to GH (at the moment it slows down the rest of GH while downloading) and maybe resume support for large files.
