Description:
  • About Patch #1:
            
    IMPORTANT: This update is installed on top of the TDC GTA2 DLC mod, as it is its patch.
    The update includes small changes to the settings of vehicles and weapons, new types of weapons,
    new icons, sounds, visual effects, animation for objects.
            
    About Mod:
            
    The mod adds canonical, as well as custom, transport models, weapons, sound and visual effects
    from GTA2, adapted for the TDC game engine, with maximum approximation to the game style.
    An exception is the handling of vehicles and weapons settings.

Manual installation:
  • NOTE: For the modification to work, you must have the TDC build 13 feb 2019 and mod TDC GTA2 DLC build #1 alpha, 3 oct 2019!

    1. Download tdc_demo.7z and install TDC in any directory.
    2. Unzip all files from the TDC GTA2 DLC mod archive to the TDC root folder, confirm the replacement of files.
    3. Unzip all files from the archive of the TDC GTA2 DLC patch to the TDC root folder, confirm the replacement of the files.
    4. The update installation is complete. Have a good game!

Oh wow you've been busy! Funny seeing the GTA2 vehicles in new colours. The train video was amusing, I've always wanted to drive the train without tracks. Laser shooting from TV Van radar is a cool idea. Great work!

Thanks for the nice tip Sector,s. I also always wanted to ride a train! :)

The idea with the electric plate on the TV van came by itself. With such a wide range of TDC engine functions, any weapon can be mounted on the roof of a car - this is really cool!

I would also like to ride a train tied to tracks (rails), but with this proposal it is necessary to JernejL's, but he already wrote that he plans to add later, we will wait and hope that this happens soon. Even now, the control of the train is close to real (it does not require constant reaping gas). The train itself was made from a trailer and therefore has interesting characteristics of "direct movement".

Really great work. Nice to see modding this early on.

i dont know if this is currently possible with tdc but it would be nice if you could tow cars with the tow truck. i always found it annoying that you couldnt do it in gta2.

Yes, I also always wanted to drive towtruck in GTA2. This thought came to me when I met him in the game. Probably the developers found this feature useless and did not include it in the release. However, you can use the script to tow any vehicle (in this video https://youtu.be/xOroxuNSJnQ I demonstrated this hidden feature).

Now in TDC you can use connectors for the truck and trailer. To do this, add “Joint Dummy” to all vehicles (to the front bumper), and “Truck Joint Dummy” to the tow truck, then you can tow the car as a trailer. However, not all trucks should hook on a trailer/vehicle. It would be best to add a new connection. For example, for a "Hitch Dummy" car, and for a "Tow Hitch Dummy" truck.

If JernejL's adds a new connection, in the next update of the mod I will add the ability to tow vehicles on Towtruck.

I tested it and it worked just like in your videos. It took me a while to hook the train to the carriage since it constantly moves but that made it more fun.

Yep, there were no problems with the train. Earlier we discussed with elypter's new truck hook features named "Towtruck". Now it is static and does not catch cars. But if JernejL's my quote is: "If JernejL's adds a new connection, in the next update of the mod I will add the ability to tow vehicles on Towtruck." Post link: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1179#p11052

At the expense of trains and trucks. Now they all work (cling and disengage well). But Towtruck needs a different type of connection that will not hook trailers.

However, the train behaves funny ;)

This makes me really happy - it shows that tools work, engine works and people can figure them out it all has some real potential :)

towtrucks are definetly a possibility - same mechanism can be used as for trailers, but different "hitch types".
It wouldd need some special work to make it work (rear of towtruck should not collide with car), but it will be done - it's added to todo list.

The potential of the engine is large. It turns out compact and dynamically expandable.

Making ports is quick and fun. Of course, there are functions that cannot be configured for new content (for example, the list of weapons in the "surprise" box and the list of generated vehicles/pedestrians on the street, as well as colors), but I hope all this will be added to the engine later.

At the expense of hitching, it’s good that you approved the idea of ​​joining Towtruck. I will wait for this function. I would also add the possibility of multiple coupling of 2 or more trailers one after another (suitable for trains): Truck + trailer + trailer + etc. When uncoupling, you can add the blinking of the bulbs on the roof of the tractor (cool chip from GTA2).

      2. Added all original signal options for vehicles from GTA2.

      3. Added all original engine sounds from GTA2.

      4. Changed the handling of tanks. Tanks became slower, heavier and more powerful for ramming.

      5. Added spark particles from bullets entering vehicles and walls. The effect is similar to the original from GTA2, but is not completely identical. Unfortunately, the sound from getting into the transport had to be turned off because sparks and sound are generated even with a rocket explosion and from a flamethrower. If there is a way to fix this, the sound will be returned.

      6. Added original fist punch sound from GTA2.

      7. A manual mine has been added, which explodes after 60 seconds, and if ped steps on it or someone else's vehicle hits.

      8. Added a bomb with a timer for 5 seconds that throws like a grenade.

      9. The changed setting of the Electro Gun, now it looks more like the original from GTA2, but is not a complete copy of it because in TDC there is no necessary type of weapon for creating electric projectiles connecting close objects.

      10. Changed the setting of Electro Baton. When using this weapon, it makes a sound like the original from GTA2 and glows.

      11. Changed the Fist setting. Damage and strike speed reduced.

      12. Added canister of oil throws like a grenade. This weapon is just for the fan as it’s not used for anything. Oil does not enter vehicles, but can respond to mines by undermining them, oil stains disappear after a while.

      13. Added original destruction animation for objects from GTA2. At the moment, not all objects from GTA2 are added; Maybe im add them in the next updates. Also, animations for pickups with weapons were not added, due to the fact that theynot applicable in the TDC engine, standard icons are static and do not use animations.

      14. In the demo script Data/MAPS/test/test.js added new spawn weapons.
