More languages

Would it be possible to modify the GTA2 Manager to include these and more languages, so you could select them in the Welcome tab? I'd be willing to create a Dutch GTA2 translation (or at least the interface, multiplayer and manager texts). I'm sure there are Polish players around here who could supply a Polish translation.

btw: when you rename one of the language files to r.gxt&bob_r.gxt or j.gxt&bob_j.gxt the Russian or Japanese flag appears in manager.

Hey, that's neat! You don't even have to rename files: you can also simply add r.gxt, bob_r.gxt and/or and j.gxt, bob_j.gxt and they appear alongside the original languages already in the manager. I called the files of my Dutch translation r.gxt and bob_r.gxt so I can select it in the manager (albeit with a Russian flag). Surely someone would be able to tweak the manager to except more language files and give them their correct flag?

It's possible when I get involved

I actually have a copy of the Russian and Polish versions... I'm planning on doing it at some point, but I believe the Russian exe is different as well to support the characters or something. So... yeah :D Never seen the Japanese version myself.

I would like to add my own language: estonian.
It also has special chars, but i have seen them in STY, so it shouldn't be a problem.

So renaming some GXT is enough and then translating the strings in it?
Or not?

Im gonna try anyway. Will translate some simple strings in e.gxt with special chars.
Will see what GTA2 will say about it.

BTW:
I have a GXT editor here, attachement:
http://gtamp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2301#p2301

v3.0.1 supports russian GTA2 but i don't remember if it displays the russian chars correctly.
I could add unicode support.

EDIT: too bad, doesn't support special chars :(
Instead displays some random letter in small font (like in phones)
Always wear safety glasses while programming.
