I just discovered that road arrows are also on top of the railroads. Look:

Trains use them to drive?

It may sound really stupid, but i didn't know that.
I thought that GTA2 just looks for RAILROAD tile_id, which is 572 and that's all.

Pretty weird for me...

EDIT1:
What if i remove the arrows completely or at some position, then the game will crash if train arrives to that point? Cars just stop and will start moving backwards but trains?


EDIT2: i wonder how my train in my test map even worked. When i just discovered GTA2, then the dma map editor and tried to create my own map with trains, it crashed many times before i saw a train. But i don't remember how i finally did it. Probably just copied some parts here and there.

Not only that, they have to be on field type tiles otherwise the game crashes.

this becomes trickz when zou have a train crossing a road. but even that can be done quite well if zou look at tinz face off armz

OT: been like that since always, and yes, it crashes when it gets to that point of the track. And as said, it must as well be set to field else it will either not work or crash, don't remember (probably the first, which is surprising considering it's GTA2).

just stupid windoyze randomly switching kb layout - gone after reboot.

Avoid Shift+Alt or disable that in Control Panel. (Exact location for the settings varies so much now.)
