The radio stations are in "GTA2\data\GTAudio" folder as WAV files. Copy the GTAudio folder from your CD to your GTA2 data folder.
eg. "C:\program files\GTA2\data\GTAudio\"

As far as I know music should work... I didn't fiddle with any audio stuff. Are you using the right manager to set the volume? (Sektor are you overwriting the old manager now?) The patch includes a manager because the old manager/game uses different registry keys.

He may have two different installs. The patched one won't have audio but the CD one will.
Sektor's advice will work. That's what I did.

Oh yeah of course, the CD version isn't 9.6f, so it only looks for audio on the CD. Sektorrrr winnnnsss

I don't know what it is but there is some kind of problem with my game/computer
Sometimes when I start the game I don't get music or intro movie and when I restart the game I never get it anymore
But then when I reinstall I get it..

Just installed this version of the game and loaded up single player to test it out and it crashed about 2 minutes later after killing some cops while I had a kill frenzy.
Is there any kind of log file that the crash would have created so I can provide it to the creator of the patch?

When did the crash occur? There are a few known crash situations, e.g. hopping into a bank van while shooting a flamethrower will always crash it.

There is but it depends on your windows version how you get it, and there are settings about whether it saves what where blah blah, it's generally annoying.
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 you can try this:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html
And save a log file for me. The main thing I need is the instruction address or "EIP", the rest of the registers (EAX, ECX, etc) are useful too.
You can email them to vikegta2 _.AT_ omnitude.net or post them here.

Vike would it be possible to hack in a switch for gta2.exe to set the player's nick from the command line?
I'm writing a bash script for recording videos from GTA2 replays and the problem is that the user would need to fix player 2's (and other not-1's) nick in the Network GTA2 screen. I could then extract the nick from the replay file, offset 0x0026, and feed it to GTA2.
Is there a list of all gta2.exe switches somewhere?

Q: Does GTA2 accept any command line arguments?
A: gta2.exe -n , this goes straight to the gta2 network screen, -r attempts to play test\replay.rep, -r red.rep (plays test\red.rep), -q constant replay save. v11.3 and newer supports -j for joining and -c for creating.

Thanks! I gathered that much from the changelog, thought there might have been more. Is that list exhaustive?

Make it possible to use the singleplayer "cheats" in multiplayer like FISHFLAP - All cars are 'mini cars'

Is it possible to make the text/chat in multiplayer use lower-case lettering instead of capitals (WHY IS EVERYONE SHOUTING!

), apart from using caps lock or shift key? Also, not sure if this has been mentioned before (probably has), about being able to use exclamation marks (!) and question marks (?).
Also, able to set focus to the chat box while in the lobby screen (before pressing Launch)?

Colour-coding it to the player is a long-standing request. It would be really useful, please! (At least for the 7 players colours which have corresponding
coloured gang arrows.)

During the night, I dreamt about a GTA2 multiplayer game. Only briefly, it was some sort of co-op moment. I saw a message. I don't remember what it said exactly, BUT IT WAS IN YELLOW.
This is surely an omen. Some premonition of future events.
