Here's a version that doesn't overwrite any files: http://gtamp.com/maps/singleplayer/illspirit-sc2.7z (GTA2 v11.41 compatible MMP file).

Make sure your GTA2 is set to english in GTA2 Manager.

Old original version is still hosted here: illspirit.com/files/sc2v1.zip (intentionally not a hyperlink).

I remember playing a map set in Venice a long time ago, which I think I got from the long-gone German site GTAForever.de. It was notable for having driveable boats. I found some other maps set in Venice (including one for GTA1), but never the one I'm searching for. GTAForever.de had some other really decent maps, if I recall correctly.

GTAForever.de is not totally gone...
http://replay.waybackmachine.org/200112 ... maps.shtml

The web archive to the rescue! Unfortunately it doesn't look like they've archived any of the map files but at least it gives us the names of them. Sektor probably has them all and just doesn't know what they're called :P

The "we're down" message:
http://replay.waybackmachine.org/200208 ... orever.de/

After that it started redirecting to another site.

Considering the limitations of GTA1, those are indeed classic levels. He was well respected but didn't get very involved in forums. That's probably how he had time to build so many Total Conversions! :D

i don't know how they would play in multiplayer but i think they are worth a convertion. At least the race should be playable.

Sektor, the GMP is not optimised in your 7-zip version. Other than that, it's the best package I've found for this level.

GMP optimised. I also noticed that GXTFile = sc2.gxt wasn't in the MMP file and since I was updating the MMP file, I added:

[MapFiles]
GMPFile = sc2.gmp
STYFile = sc2.sty
SCRFile = sc2.scr
Description = Snowball City 2
PlayerCount = 1
GXTFile = sc2.gxt
GTA2Version = 11.39
Author = illspirit
DuskSupport = true
LongDesc = Singleplayer map. Start a network game and select Snowball City 2. Do not use Play Alone in GH. SC2 is somewhat of a sequel to Snowball City and a bit of a prequel to SSGTA, so as to keep to the 'near future' theme of GTA2. The scenario takes place in what was once a snowy mountain-top town which has been partially flooded due to global warming/nuclear war. The three gangs you work for in this semi-post-apocalyptic city are a freelance group of thieves called the Scavengers, the evil Corporation who are responsible for the worlds problems and the Eco-Soldiers who are out to stop the Corporation's plot. I'll admit, the story is really quite generic but I just needed something to link the three mods together. Besides, who plays the first two GTA's for the plot anyway? :p

I also included the image of the map that illspirit originally made (GTA1 style), sc2-readme.txt and all of the MIS files that I had for it. I'm still missing sc2_gm1.mis and sc2_gm2.mis.

I already uploaded it to elypter's site and updated the link in the second post of this thread.
