on multiplayer there are three speed: slow, normal and fast, and the third speed is used on single player... how can i fix this?...

i have gta2 version 11.41 and gh 1.539j

i'm using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, but also windows vista has the same problem... i don't know if xp has the same problem or not, i don't have it...

ps: gta1 also is too fast i think...

edit: another problem: i'm unable to connect on gh...

If you enable the frame rate limiter in GTA2 Manager, singleplayer is supposed to run at 30 FPS. It's possible it ran slower on some systems and you got used to the wrong speed but 30 FPS is how it was designed to be played.

You could ask Vike to add singleplayer frame rate selection but I don't think many people would use it.

Hm, unable to connect to the GTA2 lobby or unable to connect to someone's GTA2 game?

If you cant seem to log in on the Game Hunter you will probaly need the latest version in order to join, and even then it sometimes still refuses to let people in (or so happened to me, untill i opened the ports it tried to connect to the GH server with, either that or wait it out. Though some do mention 'flushing' certain kinds of data to start anew so it works again but i dont know the details of that).

If you're unable to join a game that person most likely does not have their ports forwarded, not certain myself but some say you need to have forwarded ports to join AND host, instead of only to host, though i never had an issue joining in the early days without port forwarding (perhaps my router wasnt THAT evil :P).

But regardless of that if you cant seem to join a game i guess you might need to forward ports, which should be explained here: http://gtamp.com/gta2/gta2-multiplayer-faq/

I totally agree.

Single Player
The speed of the action in single-player GTA2 is seriously fast. It's total chaos and everything happens incredibly quickly. Due to the top-down view and how close the game spawns peds and cars, it's sometimes humanly impossible to avoid getting pwned.

The gangs at maximum disrespect can also be nearly impossible. Deciding to go massacre Scientists in their base with -5 respect is...basically the last thing you'll ever do.

Vedic Assault is just about impossible in single player unless you have total knowledge about the layout so you can be shooting the newly spawning gang members, even before you can see them.

Multiplayer
In a multiplayer game where everyone has pings lower than 50, the game runs full speed like single-player.

When playing multiplayer, vike made the "normal" setting even faster than single-player. So if you have no lag, it is impossibly fast. (Frame Limiter seems to have been circumvented.

Setting a multiplayer game to "slow" when you have no lag is quite nice, but maybe just a touch too slow? (Feels like it might be 20fps when 25 would be a more comfortable step down.)

11.39:
Singleplayer 30 FPS
Slow 20 FPS
Normal 30 FPS
Fast 50 FPS

9.6F:
Singleplayer 30 FPS
Slow 20 FPS
Normal 25 FPS
Fast 30 FPS

So we no longer have a 25 FPS option. Those are the max FPS, actual FPS will vary depending on ping.

i suggest to set 25 fps for single player (i think also for normal mode of multiplayer) instead 30. with 30 fps is too fast for most players...

I beg to differ

30FPS is just right. If it's too fast for you, have a cup of coffee.

If you tick "lock frame rate" in fraps, you can slow the game to any FPS that you like. Fraps only enables that option when it is recording video. I'd like a program/code that locks frame rate without recording video.
