Re: Gta2maps Site
Sounds like GTA Garage but smaller, focused, detailed and automated. Huge amount of work. Maybe something useful by this time next year?

Re: GTA2 v11.3
It seems the points limit cannot be set as high as normal GTA2. For example, Army Base needs a 10,000,000 Points Limit to stop it from ending too soon.
(EDIT) Army Base will end if you set a Frag game and someone enters the secret mountain. But nobody becomes the winner.

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (0.5.273) (Only zone editor
Cool changes. Changelogs are usually an order of magnitude smaller than the amount of code. Such a lot of changes must be an amazing amount of work. Searching for .sty Files Please, please find the .sty file by looking in the gta2\data folder if it is not found in the folder the map was load...

Perhaps some of your friends will play over the Internet using GTA2 Game Hunter? We are always in need of new players to keep the community alive.

Re: Mark all messages as Read?
Oh yeah, within that faint blue bar! Thanks for pointing it out. Can that be enabled on the main forum listing, so I can do it for all the categories at a single click? It's far less convenient than messages expiring automatically, like all other forums I've visited do. If an area, topic or message ...

Re: Hidden Surprise Team Deathmatch
It also doesn't make sense to have "Deathmatch" in the map name, since people can play Points or Tag as well as Frag. Re-arranging weapons, respawns and tweaking the maps is something I've considered doing. But I think they would be better by being a lot, smaller and having the boring area...

Mark all messages as Read?
On the homepage of this forum several categories always show themselves as having new messages. But they don't. They contain old messages which I chose not to read because I'm interested in what the topic was about. Most forums imply old Unread messages are Read, since you clearly aren't interested ...

Couple of nice perspective shots from Tiny Tiny Town Arena. I'm now using these instead of the R* Editor pictures.

Re: BACK-TO-FRONT BONUS!
Expeditious Execution! Seems to be when you kill ~25 people within ~10 seconds. Very difficult but possible with Machine Gun. Electro Gun makes it a bit more possible. You can "spark" people without killing them and they run away from you. Do this and chase them down an alleyway to a dead...

Heh, that really was cool. How do I get in on those games? My time in Game Hunter is really limited and it takes ages to find someone who'll actually play me.

Re: BACK-TO-FRONT BONUS!
Since they got the game announcer to record a voice-over for it, I reckon it's one of the many "Easter egg" bonuses. Sadly the thresholds for most of these are almost impossible to reach, certainly during normal rampages. Maybe the testers never knew about them so the developers never got ...

Pyro, yay! I go by my real name (Ben Millard) rather than "Cerbera" these days. Also, a few of those tutorials are my work - you're credited at the bottom of all the ones you supplied me with, though. I thought I made a really really really basic website for you some years ago? Ah here we ...

Re: Ranks
Could those ranks be closer to those used within GTA1 and GTA2 game text? I recall there being a "Psycho Bastard Bonus" for a couple of missions in GTA1, for example. So renaming "Psycho" to "Psycho Bastard" would get my vote. Perhaps "Loony" (from the GTA2 ga...

Re: Maps classification
I think "Tasks" and "Co-op" are not quite right. I'd call them both "Team" games, since even DeCon has 2 teams. I guess Army Base is a team game as well, just the humans are one team and AI is the other. Not sure we need an "other" section either. Well-chosen ...

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (only Zone Editor currently)
Why dont you just say "add button to hide objects that animate" ? That isn't the request. They should never animate within the editor. Adding controls so users can turn off useless features complicates the user interface for no good reason. It also means the default experience will ...

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (only Zone Editor currently)
Making them flat and stationary, like the cars, would let us see where they are. When we want to. Without being distracted by them all the time. The animation is annoying but the effect is awesome. How exactly it is more annoying than in GTA2? In GTA2 it is not annoying as you are playing a game. Th...

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (only Zone Editor currently)
Tried the new version briefly. The animation is annoying but the effect is awesome. The screenie for Army Base shows the feature working beautifully! Textures for Golden Lap seem to working fine now. But the hundreds of tyres which line parts of the track are missing. I take it your .mis parsing doe...

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (only Zone Editor currently)
There's no need for them to be animated. In fact, that would be a super annoying distraction. Also, you should start with the .mis constants and map those to sprites. Starting with the sprites will lead to a lot of dead ends, since there are many sprites you can't create as objects in the scripts. I...

Re: TradeMark's GTA2 Map Editor (only Zone Editor currently)
Even if they aren't editable, showing the position and rotation of objects by taking the corresponding sprite from the .sty would be great for making mini-maps. No need for any of it to be editable at this stage, just getting it to display nicely would be super useful. Then we could make our own hig...
